They enjoy a courtyard setting with two further cottages and the owners' elegant Georgian farmhouse, within 8 acres of lovely grounds, home to abundant wildlife including barn owls, kingfishers and bats. There is a pond with carp to fish and feed as well as a bubbling stream (unfenced, toddlers beware!) with a bridge for playing pooh-sticks. For children there is a games barn and a wonderful outside play area with trampolines, wooden climbing frame, swings and slide. The Jurassic coast lies 12 miles away at Lyme Regis and Charmouth is famous for fossil hunting. As well as the area's many National Trust properties, places of interest include Ford Abbey House and Gardens and Cricket St Thomas Wildlife Park (both nearby), the Cerne Abbas Giant and Fleet Air Arm Museum. Many nearby restaurants and pubs serve good food, and farm shops and cider makers provide great local produce. Shops and pubs mile.
