For walkers Coniston Old Man, Tarn Hows, Grizedale forest and the fells are easily accessible from the village. Coniston, located in the heart of the Lake District National Park, is an ideal centre for walking, sailing and other outdoor pursuits. Many places of interest are to be found nearby including historic houses and sites, museums, and lovely towns and villages.
