The village has many shops, good restaurants and pubs, 4 churches and 3 duck ponds, all within a short walk. St Tiggywinkles wildlife hospital is located in the village. The railway station is a short walk away giving 50 minute access to London. Oxford is 30 minutes by bus or car. The attractive market town of Thame is 3 miles away. National Trusts Waddesdon Manor is eight miles away.

The Chilterns (designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) are a short drive away. An excellent area for cycling, walking, culture and bird watching. Red Kites can be seen regularly flying over the village.

Wychert Cottage is a beautifully converted bakehouse in the conservation area of Haddenham. Downstairs the cottage has a roomy lounge with semicircular dining area and separate Shaker-style kitchen.
